He did say he made a promise with his wife that he'd only do the "racing for fun" for so long. I guess he wasn't making enough money off of it independently? He might be able to keep writing for jalopnik and other sites.

Totally. I started off as an admirer of what he was doing 5 years back. As thing went on, it was clear that he was taking himself way to seriously and he even started getting a bit boorish.

I followed Caswell on facebook like a lot of people did but after I followed him I realized it's more like buildrace PARTY!!! I don't like cars and racing for the whole party scene and could honestly do without it. I removed him from my newsfeed and forgot I was still following him until this.

Yeah given how he enthusiastically bragged about how he sold his life story so they could make a movie about him every chance he got it was clear he was out of touch with reality. It's not like he cured cancer or something. He's just another racer who spent all his money on a dream and let his early success go to his head and wound up broke.
